“Be joyfully obedient to what is before you. That is what we are called to do.”

Allie Beth Stuckey said this in a podcast of hers I was listening to on my road trip home from Spokane last weekend. In context, she was speaking about how we shouldn’t feel the overwhelming pressure to change the world ourselves right here right now, but rather be obedient to God by glorifying Him through the work we already have set before us. For me, this could look like serving in my church, doing housework, tutoring students, writing for my blog and creating video content for my YouTube, and in the very near future taking care of my newborn baby. You might look at these tasks and think they aren’t significant or impactful, but God can and IS using me to have a significant impact on my small circle of people around me. By accomplishing this work, my church can continue to grow and help others to know and love Jesus, my home can be a clean and relaxing environment for my husband to decompress in after long 12 hour shifts, my students can progress in their knowledge and have someone who cares for them and prays over their lives, my blog and YouTube audience can be impacted through the content I share, and my son can grow up knowing the Lord and seeing firsthand what it looks like for mom and dad to love and serve the Lord.

It may look like small, mundane tasks, but God uses us right where He has us. So don’t get me wrong, if God is calling you to something BIG, by all means you should follow His will for your life, but don’t be discouraged if you feel you are not having an impact for His Kingdom in your small circle, because He can use you right where you’re at.

Life Update!

Hi friends 👋🏻 It has been a longggg time since I’ve updated you on my life. I started my blog and this instagram account back in January 2017 and many of you who have been along for the ride feel like family to me 💕 So for those of you who are interested, I want to share the “in a nutshell” version of what’s been happening in my life these past few months. And if you want the longer, more detailed version, I’ve filmed a life update video that is going live on my YouTube channel next week 😊 I’ll let you know in my stories when you can watch it, but for now here’s the nutshell version 🙃
.
-I finished my 2nd year of teaching third grade at LCS about a week ago and will not be returning next year (bittersweet but I can’t wait to be a Momma 🥰)
-We are having a BOY! 💙 I’m now 22 weeks pregnant and can’t wait to meet our precious son in October 🥰
-Luke is on the certified hiring list for a large fire department (can’t say which one yet) and is working through a series of pass/fail tests which has been a grueling process. If he passes all 5, he will be hired on probationary terms for the first year and will complete a 3 month long academy. If he completes that year successfully, he will no longer be a probationary firefighter 🎉
-We are moving! Just about 30 minutes away from where we live now, but we are so excited to move out of our 1 bedroom apartment into a larger rental house that will better accommodate Luke, myself, Chloe, and our baby ☺️ Chloe is especially excited because we will have a big yard 🐶😁
-Now that I’m done teaching, I will be pursuing part time work that I can do from home. Right now I’m deciding between tutoring and virtual assistant work (or maybe both!) but I haven’t officially started yet. And of course, I will continue to work on my blog and YouTube until one day those make enough to supplement our income without having to do other part-time work (unless it’s something I feel called to do).

And those are the biggies! We’ve had a lot going on these past few months but man alive has the Lord been so good to us. I ALWAYS believe the Lord is good, through joy and sorrow, and He has been our rock. Praise His name!

Each morning, I wake up with my belly just a little bigger and my heart a little fuller ❤️ I can’t wait to meet you, sweet baby. It still blows my mind that I’m growing a human inside of me. It’s such an incredible miracle and it’s given me even more reason to praise our amazing Creator. Thank you Lord for this gift ❤️

This song, completely Biblically based and written by @elevationworship, has been on repeat in my head. I had a soul-filling time of worship listening to this song and meditating on the lyrics the other morning, so I wanted to share them with you too. My brother actually first introduced me to the song. It’s pretty cool how passing along God’s word and blessing can be so positively infectious. I highly recommend you listen to the song yourself and meditate on the lyrics. Allow yourself to freely worship the Lord and His goodness that He pours out on us. We thank you Lord for the many blessings you’ve given us. Let us fix our eyes on you and not forget who we put our trust and hope in. 💗

I had a soul-filling time of worship listening to this song and meditating on the lyrics the other morning, so I wanted to share them with you too. My brother actually first introduced me to the song. It’s pretty cool how passing along God’s word and blessing can be so positively infectious. I highly recommend you listen to the song yourself and meditate on the lyrics. Allow yourself to freely worship the Lord and His goodness that He pours out on us.
